Galfer Brake Pads & Rotors: 3 Generations of Quality

Posted by MOTO-D on 30th Aug 2024

These days, Galfer is best known for its brake rotors and lines, but the company got its start in the 1950s with brake shoes for manufacturers like Alfa Romeo, Fiat and Seat. Brake shoes eventually evolved into brake pads, and Galfer is still manufacturing them today.

And it’s still the same family doing the manufacturing. Galfer is currently run by the third generation of the Milesi family, and as Galfer USA’s Sandro Milesi says, brake pads are in their blood. The brake pads produced today have more than 70 years of history and research behind them. Before modern climate control systems were around, Galfer founder Maffio Milesi had to do things the hard way. He would record the temperature and humidity each day, then use that information to know what could be done in the factory under those conditions. Of course, with today’s climate control systems, it’s much easier, but that same dedication to detail can still be found in every brake pad.

The goal at Galfer has always been to provide customers with top-quality materials and components. Factors like longevity, lever feel and decreased brake dust are all considered. Galfer crafts its compounds for each specific segment. In powersports, that means sportbike brake pads and rotors are significantly different than ATV and UTV components. Now run by the third generation of the Milesi family, Galfer’s lineup of brake products is backed by seven plus decades of experience and know-how. For more information or to purchase please visit www.motodracing.com/galfer-brake-lines-rotors
